Lacklustre is a series of ink and pencil drawings that explore feelings of nostalgia and a longing for simplicity and timelessness. The subjects of these drawings have become synonymous with our desire for human connection, progress and intimacy; echoing the sentiments of the romantic era. Their dull rendering suggests a flame about to burn out much like their resonance within a fast-paced and distracted modern society. However, having their form inscribed in ink allows us to revel in their essence as long as the idea of them is preserved.
